HIMA – HOME
The HIMA Home is a small group home, which supports, nurtures, and rehabilitates young children (ages 14-21), who are victims of the most horrible circumstances (abuse, abandonment, and neglect), and will be a joint initiative between St Peter Armenian Church (lead by Sarine (Moroukian) D'Angelo), and FAR.
This home seeks to provide shelter, spiritual guidance, and rehabilitation for 8-10 children, with the goal of preparing them for independent life, through learning life skills, participating in internships, and going through professional orientation. While the home is open to both boys and girls, the focus will be on girls in order to prevent them from ending up in prostitution; an issue that is becoming more prevalent in Armenia.
